This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks

An elaborate engraving depicts a collection of figures from classical mythology, with Atlas at the center supporting a globe on his shoulders. Above him, several figures, possibly muses, hover in the clouds with books and instruments, while in the foreground, additional characters engage in study and navigation. The bottom of the artwork features an ornate title, "Atlas Historique", suggesting the image is a frontispiece for a historical atlas.
